  • Harry Potter =)

I don't know how this is going to make me sound but I finally gave in to reading the Harry Potter books.  So far I have read the first and second books.  After reading each book, I would watch the movie to see if there are any similarities/differences.  I never understood the people who read the book then watch the movie and also get excited about it.  I am the type of person who would just wait to watch the movie.  However, I have realized how much better the book is and by reading the book first you appreciate the movie even more.  I don't even know if that make sense.  This also probably makes me sound very nerdy/dorky.  HAHA.  Oh well~  I need to start reading the third book.  Does anyone have the third book that I can borrow???? =)  Thanks!

By the way, has anyone watched Wall E???  I loveeeee this movie!!! =D

  • What a powerful photo...

Click on the photo to enlarge.  The photo reads, "The PHOTO in the mail is the "Pulitzer prize" winning photo taken in 1994 during the Sudan Famine.  the picture depicts a famine stricken child crawling towards an United Nations food camp, located a kilometer away.  The vulture is waiting for the child to die so that it can eat it.  This picture shocked the whole world.  No one knows what happened to the child, including the photographer Kevin Carter who left the place as soon as photograph was taken.  Three months later he committed suicide due depression."

This was found in his diary
Dear God, I promise I will never waste
my food no matter how bad it can taste and how full I may be. I pray
that He will protect this little boy, guide and deliver him away from
his misery. I pray that we will be more sensitive towards the world
around us and not be blinded by our own selfish nature and interests.
I hope this picture will always serve as
a reminder to us that how fortunate we are and that we must never ever
    take things for granted.

As obvious as this may sound, I think it's really important to cast the right people in movies and dramas.  It either makes or breaks a movie.  Neways, I will update more later~ =)

Nhu left for Vietnam yesterday~  I'm kind of sad.  She will be gone for a whole month.  This is the first year (since college) that she will be missing my birthday~  I will miss you!!  Some people have said that we fight and bicker like boyfriend and girlfriend.  I think I can only have that special bond with Nhu~ <333~

For my birthday this year, we are thinking about going to a cooking class, ballroom dancing, wine tasting DC Improv and/or a Jazz Club~  HAHA~  is this what happens when you get older?  I remember when I was in college or even right after college, all I wanted to do was party on my birthday.  My friends made sure that I was good and loaded and I would usually not remember what happened the night before.  Even though I might have complained the next day about the hangover, I secretly enjoyed having to go all out and partying like there was no tomorrow.  Now I've noticed that the older I get the more people want to stay in and do low key things.  I think its all part of growing up.  I mean, when I was younger, I wouldn't eat half the stuff I'm eating now but I actually love and enjoy them now (except onions, I still hate them!).  For example, I used to hate eating kkong bap (beans and rice) but now I don't mind it and I even like the taste.  I also used to loveeeee eating ramyun but now I don't like it as much.  I wonder if growing older is all about being boring, eating healthy (but not tasty) food and not doing anything fun. +(  That doesn't sound too appealing.  HAHA.  No matter what, I think I will always strive to try something new; whether it's a new restaurant or a new hobby so I can keep life happy, interesting and fun.  Maybe I can even go skydiving at the age of 50.  Why not?
